uber cute!

not a fan of the car wash

I thought that Soren would enjoy taking the car for a "bath".

Not so much.

Easter Sunday

We had a pretty quiet Easter this year- just dinner and an egg hunt at Grandpa Townsend's house. I wasn't sure if Soren would be into the whole egg hunt thing, but once he saw that there was candy in the eggs he was waaaaay into it! Another thing that Soren is waaay into is playing ball. He carries around this stupid Elmo ball his Aunt Beth gave him like a security blanket. He was pretty stoked when Grandpa lowered the basketball hoop and brought out a step ladder so Soren could practice dunking!

BFF's

Soren really loves his friends Millie and Coco. He has so much fun with those two girls, and it's so neat to see them really interacting and playing together, not just next to each other! They chase, they tickle, they copy each other, they share (okay, only sometimes, but more than with his other friends!), they laugh hysterically. And as an added bonus I really like their moms! Win-win all around!!

Millie isn't tooootally into the cuddling quite yet

But Coco is!

Okay, Millie changed her mind!

best buddies

And if that's not enough cuteness for you, get this- aparently Millie has an imaginary friend who rides in the car with her and travels to Arizona with her- Soren!!

kid for sale- cheap!

Today we left Soren with Uncle Tom and Aunt Liz while we went for a tour of the hospital where bambino will be born. Aparently he was tired, because this is probably the fourth time in his life he's fallen asleep outside of a bed or carseat. This is the text picture we got. Thankfully he was still there when we got back.

strange tastes

Soren asked for some peanut butter on his pizza roll at lunch. So we humored him, expecting that to be the end of it. Of course, being the odd child that he is he gobbled it up, and said "more?"

Oh, for crying out loud!

Soren has been miserable all week, but I kept dismissing it as a cold.
Wellllll, turns out he has pneumonia. Whoops. At least he has fabulous
headwear.

reality check

Yesterday I put Soren down for his nap around noon, and was putzing around when I heard a loud "boom" outside. Sometimes trucks going by on 50th make a similar noise hitting a pothole, so I didn't think much of it. A few minutes later I started to hear sirens, and thought maybe it had been a car accident. I looked out the window and FREAKED OUT because the townhouses across 50th behind our house were engulfed in flames! It was one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen. Thankfully it turns out everyone got out safe, but of the five townhomes two are completely destroyed, and I would imagine the other three are all uninhabitable as well. Such an unimaginable tragedy to lose your home and everything in it. I know at least one family has a small child.

Here are a couple of news stories about the fire:

You can see our house a few times in this clip; from the helicopter and also when the homeowner is walking down the street in front of our house towards the end.
